Susan McCarthy '83, a partner with A to Z Law, is the incoming vice president of the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association, a local organization of trial attorneys dedicated to improving the civil justice system, the lawyers who serve it and the overall community around it.

McCarthy, whose practice focuses on business, commercial, real property and probate litigation, has been on the association’s board of directors since 2008. She earned her bachelor's degree in history and her law degree from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 1986.
